South London Summer Pub Crawl Guide

The real South London summer pub crawl
Long days, warm evenings and that familiar hum of clinking glasses, there’s no better way to soak up the South London summer than with a well-planned pub crawl.

This isn’t your usual pub crawl, it’s a curated wander through some of South London’s finest establishments. We’re talking sun-drenched beer gardens, rooftop views, freshly poured pints, and a route designed to show off some of South London’s best-loved neighbourhoods.

Whether you're a local, a London explorer, or are scouting for your next home, this is the kind of Saturday you'll want to remember, and maybe even repeat.

What makes it the real South London pub crawl?

We didn’t just pick any old pubs. Each stop on this route earned its place thanks to a few key ingredients — the kind that turn a good afternoon into a great one.

  • Sunshine and neighbourhood charm

  • Generous beer gardens and rooftops

  • Dog-friendly spots

  • A fully walkable route

  • Local landmarks and pit stops

The full route at a glance: View the route on Google Maps
(Approx. 50 minutes walking in total, not including pints, wine, and cocktails!)

Ready? Let’s go.

Stop 1: The Florence, Herne Hill
Start your crawl with leafy views and a strong pint. The Florence is a Herne Hill favourite, a grand old pub with a huge garden, plenty of seating, and even a few resident pups to say hello to. The food’s top-tier (get the buttermilk chicken burger) and the bar is fully stocked with local brews.

Need to know:

  • Best for: A lively garden start to the day

  • Menu highlights: Buttermilk chicken burger, Sunday roast, rotating local beers

  • Dog-friendly: Yes

  • Nearby landmarks: Brockwell Park, Herne Hill Market (Sundays), Brockwell Lido

  • Walk to next stop: 20 minutes to Brixton

Stop 2: The Trinity Arms, Brixton
Tucked just behind Brixton’s high street, The Trinity Arms feels like a secret garden in the heart of the city. It's got character, shade, and plenty of friendly faces. A solid round stop
